Being A Bail Bondsman Is Thankless

There may not be a more thankless job than being a Las Vegas bail bondsman. Most people who don't come in contact with a bail bondsman think of them as slimy or shady. After all they are getting people out of jail that have been locked up by the police right? The rank just below attorneys, used car salesmen and life insurance agents. Then for the people who do come into contact with your average Las Vegas bail bondsman they are either a court worker, law enforcement officer, referring attorney or client. Clients often don't love their bail bondsman because the bail bondsman requries some responsibility. They mandate scheduled check ins with the bail bonds agency and do their best to ensure the client makes it to all schedule court appearances. Then if the defendant doesn't hold up their end of the bail bonds bargain, the bail bondsman comes looking for them. Clients certainly don't love that.

So why become a Las Vegas bail bondsman? Sure the money can be good, but the competition is very, very stiff. Good luck making a splash in a very saturated and mature market. At the end of the day, a bail bondsman does help people. They help the wrongly accused gain their freedom and have time to prepare a defense. They help someone arrested for DUI get free and hopefully start to put their life back together. And at the end of the day, if there wasn't a bail bondsman to help people post bail, the legal system would grind to a halt. The jails would burst with too many people and the innocent would remain locked up in many cases. Being a Las Vegas bail bondsman is a worthwhile and honorable profession.
